The Concept of a Final Destination

“I changed addresses again.  Some place totally different from any place I’ve been up to now.  It’s really quiet here.  Maybe a little too quiet.
In a sense, I’ve reached what is for me a final destination.
I feel like I’ve come to where I was meant to come.”

A Wild Sheep Chase by Haruki Murakami, page 93

Murakami has an uncanny ability to express his feelings about various topics in a way with which his readers can strongly empathize.  This is what makes him a great writer.

His description of a final destination as “some place totally different from any place I’ve been up to now” that is “really quiet” and makes you “feel like I’ve come to where I was meant to come” perfectly describes where I want to end up settling down, a final destination I can call home.
